The Cork Blog Meetup – #Corkblogmeet15

A few weeks ago now, I had the absolute pleasure of attending #corkblogmeet15, an event organised by the adorable Zoë of ZoewithUmlauts.

Boy does that girl know how to put together a great event!

It’s been quite awhile since I attended a blogger event, and rightly so, as it’s been awhile since I have blogged! But I thought this was just the fun day out I needed to get me back in the swing of things.

We kicked the day off in Debenhams, just like last years blogger meetup. The folks in Debenhams couldn’t have been nicer and spoiled us rotten once again!

Upon arrival, they treated us to delicious pastries and a few glasses of prosecco. As if we weren’t happy enough already! 🙂

We were given a great talk on perfumes to start things off, which was so interesting to me as such a lover of the stuff. I was lucky enough to win a gorgeous bottle of Dolce which I think is such a beautiful scent. However, I will be holding back any praise I would have given it, in light of the #boycottdolcegabbana controversy.

Moving swiftly on! We were informed all about Debenhams FREE personal shopper service which is available to all customers. If you know me, you know I am a bit lacking in the style department so I am definitely going to try it out! I love that there is no deposit or anything needed and no obligation to buy.

Then we were split into 3 little groups and headed off to the shop floor. Our first stop was the Urban Decay stand where I was left drooling over the Sheer Revolution lipsticks.

Next up was the Elizabeth Arden counter where they tested out Foundation Shade Matchmaker software on us. They also showed is their new matte lipsticks and the nude shade is simply stunning.

Last but not least, we were on to Clarins, where we tested out the facial oils. There was also a cellulite cream which smelt so incredible I nearly bought it just so I could stick my nose in it.

It then came time to bid farewell to Debenhams and head on to The Body Shop. We were given a little demo on their new spring makeup pieces, including the Shimmer Cube eyeshadow quads. If you haven’t tried one of these already, I can tell you they are fab quality and crazy value for money. I don’t think it is possible to hit the bottom of these shadows! They seem neverending 😀 A few lucky ladies also tried out the eyebrow threading service. I have been a huge fan of this for about two years and won’t leave anyone else touch my eyebrows now! If you haven’t tried threading yet, please bite the bullet and give it a go! You’ll never go back 🙂 You can even book online now!

Once we finished up there, it was on to our final location, the SUAS rooftop bar. If you are a lover of cheap cocktails and tasty food, this is a spot you should check out. The outside area is glorious on a sunny day and you can order food from the Captain Americas downstairs and have it brought up to you. Score! They also have unisex toilets and it is always fun to watch the confusion on first time customers faces when they enter the loo 😀

Here we were treated to 3 fab demos. The first was given by Rebecca from Inglot Ireland who have finally opened a Cork store in Mahon Point. I urge you to make a trip out there! Its like the makeup version of a candy store and putting together your own Freedom Palette is so fun!

This was followed by a demo by the lovely Joan of MeMeMe Cosmetics. What a star of a woman! They shared the excited news that they will also be bringing The Vintage Cosmetic Company brushes into the country. If you are an absolute sucker for gorgeous floral patterns like me, you will be weak for these brushes!

Our final demo was from IsaDora Ireland who are making quite the comeback! I remember in secondary school, if you didn’t have a massive IsaDora bronzer in your bag you were a bit of a square. I didn’t have one, so that should give you a bit of insight into how my school life was haha!!!

IsaD0ra should soon be making a return to Debenhams, but until then they are available from these stockists. They told us all about their hero products, which are returning favourites, as well as all the new pieces they have on offer! If you check out my YouTube video, you will see they basically sent us away with one of everything, so there is a MASSIVE review coming up on their stuff soon 🙂

Then it was time to bid farewell to my blogging buddies, but not before Zoë weighed us all down with some unbelievable goodie bags! There was far too much to mention in one post, so check out my video below to see everything we received! Set for life 😀

Until next time!
