Hello guys! About a month or so ago, the famous Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette was made permanent. I KNOW.
When it was previously released as a Limited Edition item, it was snapped up pretty quickly by a lucky few, and I unfortunately missed out. Not this time baby! As soon as heard it was coming back, I headed over to the Space NK website. And I could hardly just order one thing, could I? Teehee 😀
Even though I purchased a grand total of 3 items, I still like to think that I was quite restrained with my order 🙂 I’m sure you would agree, I could have done a lot more damage!
First up, was the ever so pretty Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. The very reason for the entire haul. This is a set of 3 gorgeous face powders that can be used to highlight and contour or just all over the face. I have swatched them above, but as you can see, they are super light powders and almost can’t be seen on my fair skin!
That isn’t a bad thing though, and just means they are absolutely perfect for highlighting the face and giving a natural and subtle glow. They do contain a little bit of shimmer but it really is beautiful and adds a lovely sheen. The packaging is stunning and they are probably the softest powders I have ever touched. This really is a luxury looking and feeling product, but for 3 powders the price is not actually too bad!
As I was in the Hourglass section, I couldn’t help but have a look around a bit more 🙂 That is when I remembered how desperately I needed to try an Ambient Blush. Fairly desperately. There are 6 shades to choose from but I settled on Diffused Heat which is a lovely coraly, pink shade with a light Ambient Lighting Powder running through it. When all mixed together, it is a gorgeous soft peachy pink that looks gorgeous on the skin.
Again, this powder is incredibly soft and feels so luxurious. I love the fact that the marbled of lighting powder through it is random and nobody else will have the exact same pattern as you! This is my current favourite blush and I have my eye on a few more from the range. It’s my birthday in 2 weeks, so you never know 😛
The final item I picked up was a bit of an impulse buy. I have wanted to try the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation for ages but had no idea on my shade. I wanted to try NARS Sheer Matte even more but, the Glow version seems to be a cult favourite so I figured I had best give it a go. I then preceded to do something I NEVER recommend you do.
I GUESSED which shade I was. A did a bit of research first of course and used various foundation matching sites to try and figure out my shade. I finally settled on Mont Blanc and went ahead on ordered it. It is a tiny bit too dark for me though, but for summer it will probably be the perfect shade when I get a teeny bit darker. So even though, I guessed, it was worth it and I was almost right!
When I ordered, I didn’t know at the time I was going to be heading to Dublin and within reach of a NARS counter. At the counter I discovered Gobi would be a better match for me but it was a bit too late! Oh well 🙂 I will make do with the shade I have and a full review is on it’s way soon, so I won’t say much more 😀
And that was it! My first little order with Space NK and definitely not my last. I have already ordered myself an N.dulge reward card and have a wishlist as long as my arm!
Speaking of Space NK, their Grafton St store in Dublin opens on the 19th of June!!! So only a few days to go! They have some fabulous events taking place throughout June and July to celebrate, which you can check out here.
I for one, am very excited. Will I be seeing some of you there?! 😀 #HelloDublin
Until next time!
