One of the first jobs I ever had back in my teens, was working in a perfume store. It was there that my love of fragrance was born and it shows no signs of slowing down since!
As such, I thought it would be a nice idea to put together a list of fragrances I think would be perfect for Spring!! I am always on the hunt for new perfumes to try and am very picky in that department. So here are just a few Spring fragrances I have tried out recently, that I loved and am hoping to add to my growing collection 😀
These are perfect scents for the lead up to Summer and I’m sure there will be at one on the list that you will fall in love with 🙂
Viktor & Rolf – BonBon
Everywhere I look lately, people seem to be talking about Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb as their current favourite fragrance. If you like floral scents, you are likely to love Flowerbomb, as it is extremely floral as the name suggests. However, when I think of Viktor & Rolf, I definitely think of BonBon first. This is a gorgeous scent which I have been dreaming of since I had the chance to try it recently.
It has a delicious caramel scent, mixed in with peach and a few oranges tones. Have you ever smelt caramelised peaches? They smell amazing! I will say though that this is a very, very sweet scent and I would certainly not call it an everyday scent. I am not normally a fan of such overly sweet tones, but the fruitiness of the peach and the hint of jasmine really helped even out the scent for me.
Very much a love it or hate it fragrance, but I really recommend you try it on your skin as opposed to smelling it in the bottle 🙂 Kind of a good rule to follow with any perfumes really!
Burberry- Brit Rhythm
When I heard the concept behind this fragrance, I knew I wanted to try it. It is inspired by live music and the idea was to capture that rush of adrenaline and amazing feeling you get when enjoying live music in a scent. Ambitious to say the least and I am not sure it worked that way, but they have still created a unique perfume!
The top note in this is English lavender, and although lavender is normally a scent I am not a fan of at all, it somehow works here. There are musky tones also, along with pink pepper. This fragrance is like nothing I have ever smelt before, yet so very familiar at the same time! They took a risk with the blend they choose and I think it paid off! Each time I have tried it, I picked out something different from it.
None of the tones are obvious if that makes sense and this is the most unique fragrance I have come across so far this year. The list would not be complete if I had not included it!
Marc Jacobs – Daisy Delight
I have managed to mostly avoid the Daisy trend before now, but I think I have finally fallen one. There is no beating the original Daisy in my opinion but this is a perfect Spring scent.
It is one of those perfumes that puts you in a good mood when you put it on. It is just a really happy and fun offering in an equally fun little bottle. I would describe this as fruity and juicy. Top notes are quince flower and apple and it is a very refreshing. There’s also a touch of musk, freesia and peony in there. The musk gives it some warmth and stops the fruitiness from becoming too sweet.
It’s not over long lasting, but I think this would make a nice everyday fragrance this time of year 🙂
DKNY Be Delicious – City Blossom Rooftop Peony
I remember when the original Be Delicious fragrances were released and I think they were my least favourite perfumes in a long time. So I was quite surprised when I found myself liking this new scent! It is a very fresh, flowery fragrance and very much suited to Spring.
The main scent for me was peony with a touch of rose and apple blossom and it is a very pleasant smell. There is a lovely added sweetness from the blackcurrant and creaminess from the sandalwood. There are supposedly mandarin and raspberry tones in here too but I can’t say I was able to pick those out!
This has certainly changed my opinion on the Be Delicious range and it may be time for me to revisit the earlier fragrances 🙂
Calvin Klein – Endless Euphoria
If you a fan of the original Euphoria, you may well like this one too. It is not as heavy as the original, which some might call a bit of a mature scent. This is much lighter, fresher and younger smelling 🙂
The main feel I got fromthis one was definitely floral, with the top note being cherry blossom, but there is a distinctive mandarin tone as well to even things out. Below that is a soft rose scent and the base of sandalwood and bamboo really make this a dreamy mix! I really like how light this fragrance is while still having enough going on to keep it interesting.
It is perfect for Spring again and the type of perfume I would recommend to take along with you on a trip away.
Escada – Born In Paradise
Speaking of trips away! This will definitely have you longing for a nice, sunny holiday 🙂 I would say this is more of a summer scent, but it can certainly take you through both seasons.
If you are a fan of tropical fragrances, you will probably be drooling over this one! It was inspired by the Pina Colada cocktail and I think they did a fantastic job. This is a lovely warm, fruity and juicy scent and has the sweetness of the coconut, mixed perfectly with the juiciness of pineapple 🙂
There is also some watermelon and guava scents in there, but the stars are coconut milk and pineapple. You will be gasping for a fruity drink after this one and it is so refreshingly tropical and creamy!
The Body Shop – White Musk Libertine
White Musk Smoky Rose has really been a firm favourite of mine for the past month. It was recommended though, that I give White Musk Libertine a go, so I popped into The Body Shop the other day to try it out.
My other half was a fan of this scent instantly, as he absolutely loves turkish delight. This to me was similar to the Atlas Mountain Rose but obviously not as strong on the rose front 🙂 The addition of the chantilly cream, almond and honey, give it a milky and sweet layer. The top note of course in this case, as the name suggests, is musk, which makes it an instant winner in my book!
I will say this is the most powdery of the scents so far on this list, but I think the lightness of the fragrance makes it really well suited to everyday wear.
Prada – Candy Florale
Last but not least, is the latest offering from the Prada Candy range. This one is very feminine and fresh. As the name suggests, the main facet is certainly floral in this case.
One thing I will say, is that although it is part of the Candy range, do not be tricked! It smells absolutely nothing like the original (to me anyway) and if you are a fan of one, you will not necessarily be a fan of the other. The initial scents are of limoncello and honey, which I think is a lovely departure from the caramel scents of the original Candy. The lemon scent fades to give way to the main floral peony tones.
If you are a fan of the floral, this may be the one for you this Spring. A really nice and light, girly scent 🙂
