For the next 6 weeks, a whole bunch of awesome bloggers will be writing a #LetsTalkBlogChallenge post for you all to check out and enjoy, Monday evenings at 8pm :). Each week will feature a different type of post so stayed tuned to see what we will be talking about!
First up though, is A Day In The Life post, so let’s get cracking!
When I heard that the first post was supposed to be A Day In The Life style post, I have to say I was a bit nervous. You may have noticed that I was missing from the blogosphere for a few months recently.
I won’t go into too much detail right now but basically, I have only ventured out of the house a total of 3 times since Christmas. Twice for doctors appointments and once for the post you are about to see. If I was to post about a typical day in my life, all you would see is pictures of me hiding under the bed covers and sleeping for about 13 hours. More on that another time though.
So I may have cheated a little by not posting about a regular day in my life but I didn’t want to bore you all that much!
My day began with some toast, a cup of tea and catching up on YouTube videos. How exciting!
Next, I decided it was time to write a blog post! Something I have not done enough of, which I hope to change in the future!
Then it was time to get my face on. If I look a little tired in the above photo, please excuse me! Also, I have no idea what it is I was looking at, but it certainly wasn’t the camera haha!
After I had gotten ready, Steve helped me take some pictures for an OOTD post, which you may have already seen. It was then time to hop on the bus into town on our adventure!
I should point out that this was at least 7 hours after that tea and toast! This should give you an idea of how long it takes me get motivated to get up and move about.
After about 20 minutes and a little stroll, we arrived at our destination! The lovely Cork City Hall for the Jameson Cult Film Club.
Neither Steve nor I had been to one of these events before, but we were pretty excited! The club is free if you can manage to score tickets and the movie on the night was The Usual Suspects. Such a good movie, which you must watch if you haven’t seen it! The area where the seats were laid out had been set up to look like the pier that a lot of the movie takes place on. What a cool idea!
With the Jameson Cult Film Club, the location is kept secret until you get your invitation and the atmosphere is amazing. As you can see above, some sets from the movie are actually recreated on the night so you feel totally immersed in the film! They also use actors to act out parts of the film live at random points, so don’t be surprised if some dudes with guns suddenly run at you mid movie! It’s all part of the experience :).
As well as a free movie, you also get free food and free drinks, much to Steve’s delight! The food was a Kobayashi burger which was pretty tasty. You will get the reference if you’ve seen the movie ;). To drink, there was some Jameson, ginger and lime but I didn’t actually partake in those. Steve tells me they were damn tasty though and he may order some next time he is out!
All in all, it was a pretty amazing night and we will definitely be attending another Jameson event in future if we manage to get our hands on some tickets! On the way home, I took a picture of the City Hall all lit up at night and a picture of a little cherry blossom tree we found :). So pretty!
And that was the end of that! Not very exciting for some perhaps, but we had a great time :D.
Be sure to stay tuned for the rest of the Monday posts for the next few weeks, and check out the #LetsTalkBlogChallenge on Twitter, Mondays at 8pm for everyone else’s posts!!
Until next time!
On a side note, if you suffer from depression or anxiety, please make the effort to tell someone. A friend, family member, co-worker, doctor, neighbour, anybody. Just tell someone who you think can help. It took me years longer than it should have but I am now finally getting the help I need. Please don’t wait for it to get as bad as I did! xxx
