Hello all! It’s been a little while, I know haha!
Today I thought I would ease you all back in to things, with another “Currently Listening To” post! Something nice and easy to get us started again after my little break :).
Lana Del Rey – West Coast
First up is the brand new song from Lana Del Rey, who I absolutely love! I wasn’t sure I would like this song as you never know what she’s going to do next but it may actually be one of my favourites by her. No official video just yet but below is the video she has put up in the meantime.
Mike & The Mechanics – The Living Years
I am a big fan of this band. They have so many great songs. This is a song I have liked for as long as I can remember. It was actually released a little but before I was born! Such an awesome song. So sad but so great. Oh “the feels” as they say!
HAIM – Falling
HAIM seem to be getting more and more popular by the day and I have to say I was a bit late to the party! They seem to be known for their style almost as much as they are known for their music which is pretty cool! They have quite a few chatty songs on their album but I chose this one for the slight Peter Gabriel vibe I get whenever I listen to it :).
Procol Harum – A Whiter Shade Of Pale
Oh my god this song. I will never get sick of it and something about it makes me so emotional. I am sure you all have heard this one before! Black Label Society actually did a cover of this on Hangover Music Vol VI which could have been a risky move, but I quite like their version. You might want to check it out but don’t come back and yell at me if it’s not your cup of tea!! 🙂
Foxes – Let It Go For Tonight
Next up is a tune from Foxes. Her album comes out next month and I am really looking forward to it. So far I love everything about her! Her hair is amazing and I am seriously considering a copycat job. What do you think?! I love the video for this song as it’s just so fun and bright. A paint/food fight looks like it would be such a laugh!
Black Label Society – In This River
If you are a Dimebag Darrell fan, you probably have heard this at some point. It is quite a sad song and the video is a tribute to Dime. I have to be in the right kind of mood to listen to Zakk Wylde’s voice. Sometimes I love and sometimes it really irritates it! Lately I have definitely been feeling it though.
Zedd ft. Hayley Williams – Stay The Night
I remember my brother being a pretty big Paramore fan back in the day so I’m not sure if that is the reason I find myself liking this song or what! It is certainly not my usual type of thing to listen to at home, but I seem to be enjoying a bit more of this upbeat kind of stuff this month! Who knows how long that will last! (Not long I would think :P)
The 1975 – Settle Down
The 1975 seem to be another band that I was a bit late to the party on! Since finding their album though, I have been playing the whole thing on repeat and loving every song. I definitely would like to see them live at some point. Matthew’s hair is amazing and the band seem pretty stylish. I have to say though, when I found out Matthew was Denise Welch’s son, I was in shock! What?!?!?!?! :O
John Farnham – You’re The Voice
Doing a little dance in my seat as I type this. This is a proper “bang on the desk” type song. I love it! It was a bit before my time, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of this one. John Farnham sounds fricking awesome and this is what I believe you would call a “TUNE!” :).
The Smiths – How Soon Is Now
I will leave you with this one. I went through a phase where I was obsessed with The Smiths and The Cure a few years back. I just spent a good hour trying to decide with song by The Smiths to include as I love so many, but finally just settled on this one! If you are not a fan of the band but happened to watch the show Charmed, you will be familiar with this :). On a side note, I tried rewatching that show recently and the first episodes are so cringey to watch now!
So, that’s it for this instalment folks. Would you like to see more posts like this? Have I introduced you to any new songs?
Let me know in the comments below, and also be sure to tell me what you are currently listening to! 🙂
Until next time!
