Hey folks! So today I thought I would add a new series to the blog in the form of a FOTD or face of the day post.
What do you think?!
Now I must admit that this is not actually the makeup I am wearing today but is in fact the makeup from the GRWM video I made last week! If you would like to check it out and see how I created the look, you can do so here :).
This is very much an everyday look so I didn’t do anything too fancy so if you want to try it out, it’s pretty simple to achieve! Below I have quickly listed all the products I used which were also mentioned in the video. I have also included some links in case you want to purchase anything I mentioned!!
To start off, I used my Yes To Carrots Nourishing Rich Moisture Day Cream as a base. What a mouthful of a name!! Once this had dried, I went a head and applied some Clarins Beauty Flash Balm as a primer. A total cult product at this stage and I still love it!! For foundation I used my usual MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NW15 which I believe is the second lightest shade. This contains SPF 15 which is great for people like me who always forget that step!
Under my eyes I patted on some Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer but I must admit, I am not a fan of this unfortunately :(. I then moved onto my eyes and used It’s About Prime from Soap & Glory to prime my lids. I still prefer Urban Decay Primer Potion but this is a cheaper alternative and doesn’t do a bad job! I went ahead and put Vanilla from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over my lid, followed by Half Baked which is a gorgeous gold shimmery colour, great for this time of year. Or any time really!
Then I went ahead and used a burnt orange reddish colour from my Coastal Scents Metal Mania 88 Palette in my crease and blended it in with a MAC 217. I have very handily pointed at the colour above but wanted to show a bit more of the palette as I love all the colours and it is such a bargain!! I took a white and vanilla colour from the Original Coastal Scents 88 Palette and mixed them together. I used this to highlight under my brow bone. To finish off the eyes, I took a Carbon Eye Definer in Brown from The Body Shop and roughly lined the outer corner of the top and bottom lash lines. I then smudged this in with the handy smudge tip at the other end of the eye definer :). I curled my lashes with a random eyelash curler and used Maybelline Falsies Waterproof Mascara in black for my top lashes and Cliniques Bottom Lash Mascara in black for the bottom. I LOVE this. Not only is it a good mascara, it is also ridiculously cute!!!
To contour, I took an angled MAC brush and the contour shade from the Urban Decay Flushed Palette. I took my NARS Luster blush and a kabuki brush and applied that to my cheeks. Heading back to the Urban Decay Flushed Palette, I used the highlight shade on my cheekbones and down my nose :). To fill in my eyebrows, I just used my Eylure Shape & Shade Brow Pencil and Tamer in Brunette. Another love of mine! If I don’t use this, I use a dark brown shadow from the Coastal Scents palette and an angled brush. To finish off I took a Real Techniques Buffing Brush (love this!) and applied some Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in my t-zone area. I couldn’t find a link for this anywhere but Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is another great one to try :). Finally, I popped some Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Kiss Me Coral onto my lips! I have 3 of these lipglosses I think and they are definitely a favourite of mine! They feel lovely on the lips and not at all sticky.
Well that’s it folks!! What did you think? Would you like to see more of these posts in future? Please comment below and let me know!! Again, you can check out the GRWM video here if you would like to :).
Until next time!
